(Sports)Mourinho to Make Another History

Jose Mourinho is about to complete his fourth full season in England; four years during which time he has lost only twice to Chelsea’s title rivals in the top four.

It is a remarkable record from 24 games and it sums up neatly.

He is paid to win and he is a master of delivering results under pressure, which is the reason he is a serial champion of domestic leagues and is attempting to make history as the first manager to win the European Cup with three different clubs.

Chelsea’s victory at Anfield, a defensive and counter-attacking master-class, completed a haul of 16 points from 18 in games home and away against Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal.

The last time he lost in the Barclays Premier League against a top-four rival was at Liverpool in January 2007 – Petr Cech’s first game back after his fractured skull. The only other occasion was at Manchester United in November 2005.

Since his return to Stamford Bridge, he has won five and drawn 0-0 at Arsenal two days before Christmas, when Arsene Wenger’s team was top of the league and in good rhythm.
