UEFA : Enyeama Concedes 30th Goals; Taiwo, Oduamadi, Simon Left Out

Former Super Eagles skipper, Vincent Enyeama, conceded his first goal of the UEFA Europa League competition this season in Lille’s 1-1 draw at home to FK Qabala at the Metropole Stadium on Thursday night, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

The 33-year-old who was making his 24th appearance in the Europa League competition was beaten from close range when Vitaliy Vernydub headed in a 13th minute corner.

Ryan Mendes levelled scores for the hosts two minutes after the restart. Enyeama has conceded 30 goals so far in the Europa League.

Lille are away to FK Qabala next Thursday for the second leg clash.

In Sweden, Nigerian duo of Taye Taiwo and Nnamdi Oduamadi were both left out of HJK Helsinki’s side that defeated IFK Gothenburg 2-1 also on Thursday.

Both players have scored six league goals from 17 games while Taiwo has scored twice this season from the spot in the competition.

In Austria, Kayode Olanrewaju was substituted after 85 minutes in Austria Wein’s 1-0 loss at home to Spartak Trnava.

Ndip Tambe’s stoppage time goal in the first half sealed the win for the visitors.

In Belgium, Moses Simon was an unused substitute in Gent’s 5-0 demolition of FC Viitorul Constanta.

In Turkey, Aminu Umar played all 90 minutes for Osmanlispor FK who pipped Nomme JK Kalju by a lone goal.

Umar who scored an hat-trick in the last round was well monitored in the encounter. Tiago Pinto’s 74th minute goal sealed the win for the Turkish side.
