Nigeria born- British fighter Anthony Joshua defeated Wladimir Klitschko in their world heavyweight title fight at Wembley last night. In his post match interview, Joshua said,

“Well, what can I say. First and foremost 19 and 0, three and a half years in the game. I’m not perfect but I’m trying. If you don’t take part you fail. I want to give a big shout out to my trainer and GB boxing, to 90,000 people in the arena and lastly a massive shout-out for Wladimir Klitschko. I’m not going to say too much in case he wants to come back and fight me again but he is a role model in and out for the ring and I’ve got huge respect and love for Wladimir Klitschko.

I am a little bit emotional because there are people who think I can’t do it. I dig deep and you never know the outcome.  Boxing’s about character and when you go to the trenches that when you find out where you are. There’s nowhere to hide in that little ring. I came out and won that’s how deep i had to dig. I fought my heart out.  And Tyson Fury baby, where are you man? I want to give 90,000 people another chance to watch a night like this’.

Wladimir in his own remarks said:

‘London I love you. The best man won tonight. Two gentlemen fought each other. Anthony was better than me tonight. It was really sad I didn’t do it. Love and respect to you guys, you are awesome. I wish I could raise my hands instead of not winning the title back. [A re-match?] I have to work out what the hell happened here’.

Politics: Why I want to be Lagos Island LG Chairman -Ojora

walePrince Wale Ojora is really setting his priority right to become Lagos Island Local Government Chairman.

Sources revealed that he is apparently disturbed by the lackluster developments in the Lagos Island local government areas, Prince Wale Ojora has taken the bull by the horn to vie for the chairmanship position of the council in the forthcoming local council elections.

This is as a result of his conviction that he has got what it takes to take the council area to the next level that will be in conformity with his party’s manifestoes and aspiration of change.

Speaking recently with journalists, the former secretary to the local government explained that he was persuaded by various political interest groups in the area who have severally lobbied him to come out and vie for the position and perhaps make him the only candidate to beat at the moment.

A well educated young politician has his first degree in Industrial Chemistry and two masters degrees in chemical engineering and operations research from the University of Lagos and Certification in Oracle 9i Data administrator from Oracle university in South Africa

In his view, Lagos Island needs to be brought back to its old glory where virtually all the blue-chip companies used to have their headquarters either on Marina or Broad street, saying ‘it is disheartening that almost all the companies now prefer Victoria Island, Lekki or Ikoyi, we must find a way to bring those companies back because the problems are being resolved by the present state governor’

Ojora who presently oversees the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI) claimed to be the appropriate candidate for the post, having been a Supervisor for works and Secretary to the local government in the past and equally well educated to take the challenge of the council leadership.

According to him, the local government urgently need to fix all the primary health centers and the primary schools to give a decent life to the residents who may not afford the luxury of private consultations.

In this regard, he said an aggresive close collaboration with the state government is needed to fast track all these massive transformation which are very achieveable with a visionary leader like himself.

On his confidence to clinch the ticket of his party, All Progressive Congress, Ojora opined that APC is a party of democrats that will give a level playing ground to all aspirants and because of this, he is assured that he is the man the party will put forward to contest the July election.
Reeling in comfort of his royal blood, the prince who pride himself as the home boy of Lagos Island called on his people to rally round him to achieve the dream of a new Lagos Island.
“At the moment we need to key our ideas into the state governor’s vision to take our area to the next level. We should key into the proposed regeneration programme of the Marina by Governor Ambode to benefit our people in terms of jobs and empowerment. He said

Fuji: K1 opens up on Late Barrister, Wife

Image result for Alhaji Wasiu AyindeKing of Fuji Music, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshall who is popularly known as K1 has opened up on the controversy going round about late Fuji Music originator, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister and his wife who gave birth to a new child.

It was reported about a month ago, a controversy over the origin of fuji sprang up after veteran fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, claimed that his late boss, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, was not the progenitor of fuji music as widely believed by many. He said the genre of music had been in existence before his late boss ventured into music.

This came as a shock to many people who felt that the iconic singer is not only betraying his late boss who put him ‘on the path of fuji’ but also distorting history.

While many fuji icons maintained that the late Barrister was the originator of the music genre, some like Kollington Ayinla who is a contemporary to the late Barrister decided to keep mum on the matter.

However, since KWAM 1 as he is fondly calledby his fans made the statement, he never commented on the issue till Saturday Beats caught up with the singer at the recently concluded Nigerian Entertainment Conference.

When asked about the origin of the genre of music, the fuji singer simply said that he would speak on the matter some other time, adding that he would remain loyal to his late boss till he dies.

“I want to let the issue on the origin of fuji rest for now because well-meaning people that know about entertainment don’t want our entertainment to be troubled so I would rest that one for now. I would address the issue another time.

“Everybody is entitled to their opinion on issues but the people that understand the matter would not give such a response. My loyalty to the late Barrister is still 100 per cent intact and I would take that to my grave when I eventually die. I really don’t want to address this issue now, please respect my opinion on that,” K1 said.

Still basking in the euphoria of the recent addition to his family, K1 while commenting on the delivery of his daughter some weeks ago said that he is very happy and further gave some tips on parenting.

“I am happy that my wife gave birth recently and I feel good. Everybody must have time for their home. The way I planned my life is simple, when I am not working I am at home with my family because I am a family man. Scolding a child does not let them listen to what you want to say. The best you can do to raise a good child is extensive talks and education, you keep talking to your children because you realise people are different. You don’t have to beat a child, smacking them would not make them listen. It is better you talk to them, sit them down and correct them. I don’t believe in smacking and no one can beat my child,” he said.

Although he began his music career at 15 and it has spanned for over forty years, the singer said that he has no intentions of hanging his boot anytime soon.

KWAM 1 said, “I am still very agile and my memory is very sharp, so I don’t see any reason to retire. I am not disturbed and this is the blessing of God. I have a large followership and there are people that study me like they do their religion, so I am here to serve people.”
