UCL: Ronaldo Cleared To Face Man United After One-Match Ban

Related imageIt has been gathered that Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been cleared to face his former club Manchester United next month after Uefa ruled he must serve only a one-match ban for his Champions League red card.

Ronaldo was sent off during Juve’s 2-0 win over Valencia last week after appearing to pull defender Jeison Murillo’s hair and will miss Juve’s next Champions League game against Swiss club Young Boys on 2 October.

Speaking to Punch, Adeleke said PDP members in the state were being harassed.

“What is happening in Osun State now is not an election.  What we have is a coup.  That is what we are witnessing now. Our supporters are being harassed and are not allowed to vote at all. Let the whole world know that this is not the democracy, ” he said

Football: How Mourinho, Pogba part ways

Mourinho though Paul Pogba is captain material.Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba’s relationship has deteriorated to the point that the manager has now informed the Frenchman’s Manchester United teammates he will not captain the club again.

Mourinho is understood to have told his players that message following the Frenchman’s comments following the Wolves game.

The World Cup winner had added fuel to suggestions of a breakdown between the pair by boldly telling his manager how United should play after toiling to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Saturday.

And those followed on from Pogba discussing his future with reporters during the international break amid continued rumours of a move to Barcelona.

The pair have both been at United for two years now, here’s a look back over how their relationship has developed during that time.

Pogba: “It has always been a club with a special place in my heart and I am really looking forward to working with Jose Mourinho. This is the right club for me to achieve everything I hope to in the game.”

Osun latest: Femi Fani Kayode exposed A P C ”Adams Oshiomole who called Iyiola Omisore a murderer, has offered him N480m and APC senatorial ticket”


FFK has tweeted this after APC chairman, Adams Oshiomole, led other chieftains of the party to see SDP candidate in the Osun state governorship election, Iyiola Omisore, yesterday September 25th.

The visit was to get Omisore to work with the APC to ensure they win the rerun election in the state slated for tomorrow, September 27.

Photos: Notorious cultist/robber dies in shootout with the police in LagosIt has been reported that a 31-year old notorious cultist/robber,Olamide Oloruntobi, who is a well known cultist in Ishashi, a suburb of Lagos State, has been killed during a shootout with the police.

The late notorious cultist, who was the leader of the dreaded Aiye confraternity in the area, met his Waterloo at Durosooto street, Celenizer, New Mebamu, Ishashi, at about 8pm last night, when the police were alerted that the group, led by the deceased were terrorising residents of the area.

Based on the information, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ishashi Division, SP Amuda Abolaji, led a team of policemen to the scene. On arrival, the hoodlums sighted the police team and opened  fire on them. This led to a hot exchange of gunfire. When the dust settled, Olamide Oloruntobi was found dead.

Meanwhile, his locally made pistol with one live ammunition had been recovered while the corpse had been deposited at Badagry General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Edgal Imohimi has charged the DPO, to do all he can to arrest fleeing members of the gang. He has equally directed the head of the Intelligence Unit of the Command to assist the DPO in that regard. The CP said that the death of a cultist is not a thing of joy. He therefore calls on parents and community leaders to prevail on their children or subjects who are members of these unlawful groups to renounce cultism and surrender their weapons to the police. I will Seek Special Status for Obafemi Owode If Elected- Ogun State ADC Assembly Aspirant

A member of African Democratic Congress, ADC; Prince Obadeyi Luqmon Omotayo, popularly called POLO has promised to seek special infrastructural development status for Obafemi Owode Constituency in line with ADC governorship aspirant, Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, GNI’s agenda on border towns development if elected to represent them.
The philanthropist and religious scholar turned politician made the promise while submitting his expression of interest and nomination form for Ogun State House of Assembly, Obafemi Owode Constituency seat in next year’s general elections at the ADC secretariat in Abeokuta earlier today.
The Lagos State University graduate of Public Administration, further add, “though our primary responsibility is to give adequate representation to our people and better interaction as well as carry out our appropriation and oversight of the same funds appropriated for the executive but being an indigene and having spent most of my life in Mowe,I can conclude that towns like Arepo ,Asese,Owode, Pakuro, Olowotedo, Mowe, Orunkole, Ofada, Arigbabowo, Obafe, Adesan, Loburo, Alekun, Ayanmo, Kajola among others deserves special developmental status as these towns can improve the fortune of the state if properly harnessed which am very desirous of achieving if giving the mandate”
In receiving Prince Obadeyi and his team, the party State women leader, Chief Mrs Adegoke encourage all  aspirants to continue evangelizing the party programs to electorates, as ADC promises to provide a level playing field for all aspirants .”
Prince Obadeyi then urges residents of Obafemi Owode Local Government to be active politically by supporting and joining African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the party is built on Transparency, Prudency, Accountability, Humility, De-Tribalised, Due- Process and is open for anybody especially the youths.

Osun guber: Senator Adeleke states what he will do if he looses the election

It has been reported that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke has revealed that he will congratulate his opponent if he loses the Osun governorship election.

In a chat with journalists on Saturday, September 22, after casting his vote in his ward at Ede north local government area, the senator noted that his chances of winning the election is high, adding that he would send congratulatory messages to whoever emerges as winner in the event that he does not win. He also expressed his satisfaction with the process so far, stating that the materials arrived early enough.

“I am satisfied with the process so far,” the PDP candidate and serving senator said. “The turnout has been awesome in my area, I cast my vote in my father’s compound. I hope this is the same in other areas as well,” he added.

When asked by press men, what his chances are to win the election?

Senator Adeleke stated that he would win if the election is free and fair. His words: “I will win if the election is free and fair. I have defeated them before, I will defeat them again. “If I lose the election, however, which is not likely, I will congratulate the winner. And if I win, I expect the loser to congratulate me as well.”

Meanwhile, the Alliance for Democracy (AD) has denied the news of withdrawal of its candidate from the election.

The director of communications of the party’s campaign, Niyi Omotoso, in a statement described the news as ‘fake.’ The party also denied entering any alliance with the PDP or any other party, stressing that its candidate, Olugbenga Akintola remains in the race and he is confident of victory at the elections.

Europa Cup update: Iwobi makes Arsenal proud

europa-alexiwobi-arsenalSuper Eagles forward Alex Iwobi made his seventh UEFA Europa League appearance and provided a great assist for Arsenal’s firts goal in their 4-2 home win over Ukrainian side, Vorskla Poltava, in Thursday’s Group E clash.

The Nigeria international gave Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the assist to score the curtain raiser in the 32nd minute. Iwobi played for 70 minutes before he was subbed off for Emile Smith-Rowe.

A brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, strikes from Danny Welbeck and Mesut Ozil gave the Gunners a bright start to the competition despite consolatory goals from Volodimir Chesnakov and Vyacheslav Sharpar for the visitors.

In the other group E game, Portuguese side, Sporting CP defeated Qarabag FK 2-0 to move second in the standings after matchday one.

In group C, Samuel Kalu made his debut in the UEFA Europa League for Bordeaux who lost 1-0 to Slavia Prague in Czech.

The Nigerian international featured for all 90 minutes but was yellow carded in the 74th minute of the encounter. In the other Group C match, FC Copenhagen played out a 1-1 draw at home to Zenit St Petersburg.

Robert Mak gave Zenit St Petersburg the lead in the 44th minute before Pieros Sotiriou drew the hosts, FC Copenhagen level in the 63rd minute.

Turkish side, Fenerbahce lost 4-1 away to Croatian side, Dinamo Zagreb while Anderlecht lost 1-0 to Slovak side Spartak Trnava in group D.

AC Milan defeated Luxembourgish Football club F91 Dudelange to go top of Group F after Olympiacos and Real Betis played out a goalless draw.
