Busola Dakolo demands an apology and N10 million legal fees from Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, court paper revealsIt has been reported that Busola Dakolo has demanded that Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo must apologize to her and pays an estimated 10million Naira for her legal fees, cost for filing the suit against him, lawyers fees, travel cost etc, for allegedly raping her over a decade ago.

Mrs Dakolo, in legal documents filed on her behalf by her lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi and Co of Law corridor, demanded that the founder of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA,  Pastor Fatoyinbo pens a clearly worded apology on the front page of at least two national newspapers and two national television stations for seven days running consecutively.

She also demanded that Fatoyinbo addresses a “personal apology letter” espressing honest remorse for his actions towards her.

According to legal documents obtained by Channels Television, Mrs Dakolo told a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja that being sexually assaulted by Pastor Fatoyinbo affected her marital sex life adversely.

Busola Dakolo insisted in her suit that Pastor Fatoyinbo “forcefully pushed her unto a couch close to the front door of her house, pinned her to the couch, undressed her, caressed her body, fondled her breasts, exposed his genitals to her glare, forcing a bottle of soda (Krest) down her throat thereby making her breathing difficult.”

She added that as he assaulted her, he covered her mouth to muffle her screams and threatened her life on the 23rd of September, 2002.

Mrs Dakolo also stated that on another occasion, on the 26th of September, 2002, Pastor Fatoyinbo drove her to a secluded area, forcefully pulled her out of the car, undressed her, spanked her buttocks, threatened her life, caressed her body, fondled her breasts and exposed his genitals to her.

Both actions, she said, caused her emotional distress.

Mrs Dakolo also asked the court to declare that Fatoyinbo’s denial of his alleged acts through a press statement he released on June 28 2019, had caused her continuous emotional distress and amounted to intentional infliction of emotional distress on her.

According to the legal documents, Pastor Fatoyinbo is expected to cause an appearance to be entered for him in an action at the suit of Mrs Dakolo, within fourteen days of being served.

 

How IGP Adamu Mohammed instructed FCID’s DIG Michael Ogbizi to investigate Pastor Fatoyinbo, Dakolos’ case

IGP Adamu Mohammed orders FCIDIt has been reported that Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Michael Ogbizi will be overseeing the investigation of the rape case involving COZA Founder, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, Timi Dakolo and his wife, Busola Dakolo.

Though it was reported earlier that IGP Adamu Mohammed ordered the case transferred to Lagos, as it was learnt that the Dakolos filed their petition first.

It is expected that DIG Michael Ogbizi will treat each case on merit, ensure speedy, thorough fair-hearing and impartial investigation to all the parties involved in the rape case. The statement released by the Force spokesman DCP Frank Mba, reads;

In a bid to ensure a speedy, thorough, fair and impartial investigation into the case of rape reported by Mrs Busola Dakolo against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), the Inspector–General of Police, IGP M.A. Adamu, NPM,mni, has ordered the Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), DIG Michael Ogbizi, fdc to immediately take-over the on-going investigations.

The DIG is also expected to take over the investigation of the complaint made by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo against the Dakolos in addition to providing a personal supervision to all facets of the investigation to ensure justice and fair-hearing to all the parties, with each case being treated purely on its merit.

In the same vein, the IGP has directed that the procedure which the Police operatives adopted in serving Invitation Letters on Timi and Busola Dakolo on Saturday, 20thJuly, 2019, be subjected to rigorous and discreet scrutiny to ascertain its conformity with Police Standard Operating Procedure and International Best Practices.

While enjoining the general public and the parties involved in the cases to remain

Social media influencers allegedly being offered N2m to defend COZA pastor, Biodun FatoyinboIt has been revealed that People claiming to be members of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) have allegedly been reaching out to social media influencers to carry out a social media campaign in defence of their pastor.

According to The Cable, social media opinion influencers are being offered as much as N2 million to upload posts in defence of Fatoyinbo.

Biodun Fatoyinbo, the senior pastor of COZA  was accused of rape by Busola Dakolo, a celebrity photographer and wife of singer, Timi Dakolo.

It has been reported that Abike Dabiri, the Chairman of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission has charged women to ‘rise up and demand justice’ following Busola Dakolo’s bombshell interview about her sexual assault encounter with Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of COZA.
