Ramsey signs 4 year Juve deal worth £400,000 per week

Ramsey signs 4year Juve deal worth £400,000 per weekArsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has signed a four-year contract with Juventus worth over £400,000 per week, according to Sky sources.

The Wales international has agreed a pre-contract deal with the Italian champions, meaning he will join on a free transfer when his Arsenal deal expires at the end of the season.

Ramsey had been in talks with the Gunners over a new deal for several months, but the club withdrew their offer in October, leaving Ramsey free to discuss a move away from north London. The former Cardiff ace who joined Arsenal in 2008 has so far made 256 appearances scoring 38 goals. Former Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenge once described Ramsey as a “complete midfielder” adding  “I was a midfielder, and I would have loved to have had what he has.

He can defend, he can attack, he can score goals.

What more do you want?” Ramsey was rewarded for his outstanding form during the 2013–14 season by being named Arsenal’s Player of the Season. It was in the same season that he developed into one of the most influential players at the Emirates

In the last 13 months, Arsenal have signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Lucas Torreira for a combined total of over £100m, but only signed Denis Suarez on loan from Barcelona in January.

Mesut Ozil was also handed a new long-term contract last season worth £350,000 per week.

Juventus are considered to be experts at exploiting the free transfer market, and have signed the likes of Dani Alves, Emre Can, Andrea Pirlo and Paul Pogba on pre-contract deals in recent years.

Ramsey will become the third Welshman to play for Juve, following in the footsteps of Ian Rush – who spent just one season in Italy – and John Charles, who spent five years with the club in the 1950s and 60s.

Ronaldo: Man United robbed Juventus in Turin

Ronaldo: Man United Did Nothing To Deserve Win Over JuventusCristiano Ronaldo has revealed that his former side Manchester United did nothing to deserve their shock 2-1 win over Juventus in Turin in their UEFA Champions League clash on Wednesday.

A stunning volley from Ronaldo looked to have won a key Champions League clash for the Bianconeri, only for Juan Mata’s free-kick and an Alex Sandro own goal to gift United all three points late on.

The home side had plenty of chances to kill the game in the second half, with the likes of Paulo Dybala and Juan Cuadrado all guilty of missing some golden opportunities, but the introduction of Marouane Fellaini for United seemed to ruffle the feathers of Juventus’ backline.

“The Champions League is a special competition, where you could be winning, but can’t relax, as anything can happen,” Ronaldo told Sky Sport Italia .

“Manchester United did nothing to win the game. You can’t even talk about luck, because you have to find your own luck and in this case we just gifted it to them.

“Now we’ve got to lift our heads, as we played really well and are still top of the group.”

The shock victory for United has left them in an excellent position to qualify from Group H, with Mourinho’s side regaining second place from Valencia and now just two points behind leaders Juventus.

The Serie A champions will still expect to progress to the knockout stages, with just one more victory required to guarantee them a place in the last 16.

Captain Giorgio Chiellini slammed his team following the match on Wednesday and claimed that a result like this had been on the cards for some time.

“We want to go all the way and if we are to do that, we must learn from this sort of mistake,” Chiellini told Sky Sport Italia .

“We’ve been threatening this sort of mess for a few games, to be honest, as we get too complacent and run risks that are totally unnecessary.

“Maybe now we’ll get our heads down and focus the way we need to in every single match, taking nothing for granted.”

Football: Why Higuain would never forgive Juventus over Ronaldo deal

Higuain: Juventus Kicked Me Out To Sign RonaldoAC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain feels like he was “kicked out” of Juventus after Cristiano Ronaldo’s signing in July.

Higuain joined Juve for a reported €90 million from Napoli in 2016 and scored 40 Serie A goals across his two seasons at the club, but his signing failed to be the catalyst for Champions League success some hoped it would be.

Juve turned their attentions to Ronaldo in pre-season and managed to lure the Ballon d’Or holder away from Real Madrid, bolstering their already impressive arsenal.

But his signing ultimately meant Higuain was surplus to requirements, paving the way for the Argentina international to join Milan on loan in August in a deal which can be made permanent at the end of the season.

It was never Higuain’s intention to leave Juve, though he insists he holds no grudge towards anyone at the club despite feeling forced out.

“No, mine is a feeling of affection because they treated me very well; team-mates and supporters have given me huge affection,” he toldGazzetta dello Sport.

“But I did not ask to leave. Basically, everyone says it, they kicked me out. At Milan I immediately had a great love and so they convinced me.

“Maybe I knew something had broken, and then they took Ronaldo. The decision to leave was not mine.

“I gave everything for Juventus, I won several titles. After Cristiano arrived, the club wanted to make a qualitative leap and they told me that I could not stay and that they were trying to find a solution. The best solution was Milan.”

Nevertheless, Higuain is enjoying life in Milan ahead of his first derby with Inter and has admiration for coach Gennaro Gattuso.

“I’m only sorry for the ranking [10th in Serie A] because we deserve to be higher,” he said.

“But otherwise I feel at a very good moment of my life, both mentally and professionally. I feel rejuvenated. I love Gattuso – he looks at you and sends you his love for football.”
