Unveiling a new artiste, how do you feel?

Well,I feel great,I feel honour.. Is a privilege to always look inward and see someone to take it to the next level..This is like beginning of his own journey and God will take him there.

How did you scot for olamyte?

Like I said before. I didn’t scot but to look within my own family, not blood relations. But fans and people who are close to me, and sometimes your fan can turn out to be your artist.Olamyte has been some one I know for a while. He has what it takes to go to the next level. He’s ready to cave a niche for himself in the industry . This is part of the reason I said Ola, let’s work.

What particular song that you think is emotionally touching that inspired you want to work with him?

He has so many songs. So we will revisit all his songs. An artist might have a song he produced years back and you want your fans to hear it now so you need to revisit it. There’s one of his song I love’ my mother’. Which I believe can trend. So many lovely songs like that. But the song we are promoting right now is ‘ Woke ko wole’..

Presently in the industry. We have so many Yoruba rappers. Do you think Olamyte can go above them?

Why does he have to go above them? Why not mingle with them and showcase his talents. The joy of every father is that his son should surpass him. I just want him to be the best. What ever I have done it will be nice for him to take over.

You are a legend in the industry. How do you feel as the industry is growing bigger, from Akoka to lekki?

Who told you I stay in lekki!? The industry is growing fine. What ever you are doing you need to grow..The transition of media is larger now. Before, publication is physical. You go to news stand to read news paper but now everything has changed that means is growing really fast.. Is for you to improve more on what you know already to present transition.

As a legend. Why is it that the fans are yet to see you feature a foreign artist. Is it because of the style of music you do that is Yoruba incline?

Music don’t have a particular language. The languages music uses are, melody and rhythm. As far as the world is concerned. The right time is yet to come but sure it will come.

Currently there is Covid19 pandemic around the globe. And we heard that Naira Marley performed some where in Abuja and this has brought troubled for him . And what’s your take on covid 19?

Firstly, the show was about people staying in their cars while he performed but I think due to groove hitting hard on the fans I think they all left their cars so everything went wrong.
I think Nairamarley media team suppose to come out and tell us what really happened.
About covid19 campaign , the industry has been supportive. Musicians have been doing lots of songs for awareness on COVID-19. We are just waiting for Government to ease the lockdown on entertainment industry.

Tell us about your new song topping the chat right now?

I released my tenth album, called Tip of the Iceberg.. It was released in may 29. I featured Nigerian stars studded artists like olamide,Wande Coal and Reminisce. This is episode one and two will be out in December.

Sirika said the flight that conveyed Naira Marley to Abuja for the concert was approved to convey a serving justice from Lagos to Abuja.
The minister stated that the flight captain will be sanctioned for providing false information.

“Going forward we will escalate the mechanisms we have in place, and we will be stricter in our approvals (and enforcement),” Sirika said.

The flight violated the order of the Nigerian Government to temporarily suspend all commercial flights to curb the spread of coronavirus.

He was later released after tendering a written apology to the Lagos State Government and signing an undertaking to subsequently comply with the government directives.
