Why F G may ban Tekno for singing again over Lagos Nude Dance

Image may contain: 1 person, closeupFans of Tekno may not see him singing again after his Lagos nude dance video displaying on a van was arrested penultimate week.

Fujiipop reports have it that there are strong indications that Federal Government will not take lightly any act of debasement of humanity and the pride of Nigerian women as it vows to use some persons as scapegoats.

In a reaction to the controversial music video by a popular musician, Augustine Kelechi, aka Tekno, with scenes of four nude women dancing in a moving van on the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge in Lagos, federal government through its National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), a parastatal in the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, said Tekno would be used as a scapegoat “to teach others a serious lesson.”
The artiste, in the four-minute video was seen throwing money perceived to be dollars at the young nude women. The government expressed disappointment that despite ongoing investigations into the anomaly, Tekno went ahead to release the offensive video.

The official music video for his song, Agege, which was released on Thursday, showed Tekno in the moving van performing to the camera with the half-clad women dancing seductively.

According to the Director-General NCAC, Otunba Segun Runsewe said him, the NCAC was committed to exposing proponents of such kinds of offensive sights and videos in Nigeria, while security agencies would be briefed to place Tekno on their watch-list “because his conduct is a threat to national security.”

Runsewe said he got hundreds of calls and SMS from Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora who queried why such immorality would be allowed to happen in Nigeria.

He said, “We commend the police for arresting Tekno for the shameful misconduct. The same person who was granted bail on health ground has gone ahead to release the nude controversial video. We are now warning him to desist from this shameful conduct which is not part of our culture.

“No single person is bigger than Nigeria; whether he likes it or not, we are going to use him as scapegoat to send a strong signal that this government does not tolerate nonsense and immorality, but discipline which is our moral principle.

“Since the offensive Tekno scam video came to limelight, I have received hundreds of telephone calls and SMS from Nigerians at home and others in United Kingdom, United States, Canada and other parts of the world querying why such anomalies would be tolerated in Nigeria.

“Now that he has released the shameful video when investigation is still ongoing, we are going to inform security agencies to placed him on their watchlist because his action is a threat to national security and bad influence on Nigerian youths.

“We are committed to exposing proponents of this kind of offensive sights and videos. We warn that nudity is not part of our culture and should not be tolerated. The Federal Government will henceforth fish out such clubs for nude dancers across the country for their promoters to face prosecution.”

Section 134 (a) stipulates that an indecent act in a public place makes both parties engaging in the act liable to imprisonment for two years.

But Section 136 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, however, stated that any person, who commits any act of gross indecency with another person in public, commits an offence and is liable upon conviction to three years imprisonment.

It would be recalled that the Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency had since suspended the advertising agency, which owned the display truck that was used in shooting the video, until the completion of its investigation.

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, sittingO3 Media boss, Alex Ozone needs no introduction in the entertainment industry. But for those who don’t know much about him, he raised from a street boy to Beer Parlour waiter in Surulere, Lagos. After working so hard, he managed artistes from grace to grace. He had worked with Terry G, G O P, A Y.com and lots of them in the past.

Currently, he has changed his portfolio, he now promotes artistes from Nigeria to European countries.  Artistes like Patoranking, Jaywon, Tekno, Kiss Daniel, YQ and Terry G are few that have benefited from his leverage abroad.

However, he is planning something big with Olamide Badoo in February 2018. Ozone in association with Afro Beat Promotions are bringing Nigeria multiple music awards winner, Olamide to European countries.

The Woo crooner will do his musical tour in Norway, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, Austria, Spain, Germany, and Cyprus etc. Ozone revealed that the whole world should watch out for this massive tour.

While chatting exclusively with Fujiipop, Ozone said that nobody gave him chance to excel. And musical with Musical Taliban, Oritsefemi was the major eye opener that paved ways for him in Europe.

“Let me tell you a secret, it is Oritsefemi musical tour in Europe that really opened the business and ways for me. Way back, nobody really knew us but with Afro Beat tour on Oritsefemi musical tour things changed positively. We did musical tour for couple of artistes like Patoranking, Jaywon, Tekno, Kiss Daniel, YQ, Terry G and we are still going to do more. Because this is what we know how to do best”, he said.

Excerpts below:

Can we meet you sir?

My name is Alex Ozone. The C. E. O of O3 Media. We are into entertainment and general business. I am a father of two kids and still counting and we are moving on…

You have taking some artistes to Europe way back, can you tell who exactly who you are taking to Europe this time?

This is 2018. It is going to be a great year for us, especially for the practitioner of Afro beat music. We are starting the year tour with OLAMIDE BADOO, which will start on February 2nd from there only God knows who is next.

Can you give us the highlight of the tour?

Actually our tour is for Schengen, I mean European Schengen. This time around, it is going to cross borders with Cyprus, Istabul, Ukraine. It Is strictly all European countries but we are not talking about UK.

We know that some of the issues artistes do have are, security, visa problems, as a promoter, have you encounter such things before?

The secret is to be honest to your client. There is no businesses that don’t have challenges. It is the challenges that make it more interesting. We have good relationship with some embassy here in Nigeria and they know we are promoting the culture of Nigeria. So they always assist in getting things done in a good way. The secret is just being loyal to the hustle and the game. Being loyal to TJ and Fujiipop and everybody who believe in our brand.

Tell us more about the previous event you had done?

Let me tell you a secret, it is with Oritsefemi tour in Europe that really opened the business and ways for me. Way back, nobody really knew us but with Afro Beat Tour on Oritsefemi musical tour things changed positively. We did musical tour for couple of artistes Patoranking, Jaywon, Tekno, Kiss Daniel, YQ, Terry G and we are still going to do more. Because this is what we know how to do best.

Tell us the most interesting thing we should watch out for in this Olamide tour?

The most interesting thing to watch for is that we want to break some barriers. When I share the idea of the tour with some of my colleagues in Europe, they told me why am I bringing an indigenous rap artiste? An artiste who only sings one language, But I told them music is a universal language and the most interesting thing people should watch out for is the turn out. I know it will be great because positive result is coming in already.Image may contain: 2 people, people standing and sunglassesYou have work with Tekno and now his attitude has really changed in the industry. Lots of stakeholders are complaining about him negatively, Can you tell us while working with him do you experience the same thing on attitude problem?

I don’t know why people keep saying Tekno has an attitude problem. He is the humblest guy I ever seen. To this moment he is still my good artiste.

We heard that he showed some bad attitude towards Wizkid manager, Sunday Are. Did he do the same thing?

I don’t know where you guys get information from. I think it depends on situation that can make you show the good or bad side of you. He has been behaving well with me.

You have worked with Terry G in the past, now what is the relationship?

Terry G is starting his concert in Lagos in February. The secret about me is that any artiste that I have worked with in the past, we still have good relationship together. Till today we are still friends.

Out of the artistes you had worked with in the past, which one is the most lucrative?

Way back then you and I know it is all about passion for the music. The music business is skeptical very fast. Now we are collecting our dues. This business become more lucrative after Tekno tour that lots of people later believed in 03 Media and Afro Beat. We did lots of artistes’ tour which brought good tidings.

Tell us your relationship with Kiss Daniel?

I think I have to be more diplomatic about Kiss Daniel. The owner of G-Worldwide said I open his eyes to many things. In fact, I was alleged that he started acting funny since he came back from European tour that we took him to. But the truth is, I have different relationship with everybody. I don’t want to discuss their internal business because it is not my business.

Let’s talk about Olamide, he has proven that, after Wizkid he is next best artiste and lots of people complain about his attitude. So what can you say about it?

Most of these guys you see, we have personal relationship with them even before they are big artistes. To me I see him as my kid brother. I always keep to the rule of our agreement so I don’t know anything about the attitude. Quote me 2018 belongs to him.

Now that your personality has grown, what are you doing to encourage young guys, no matter how hard the situation is?

This is first time I will say this. I didn’t finish primary school but now am here because of the grace of God. Believe in yourself. Don’t look at other people achievement. Back then, I sleep in restaurant just to live. I trek a lot around places to distributed promo c ds of artistes in the street to Alaba International Market, Ojo Lagos.

Any message to your fans?

Just keep doing the best to be a good person, don’t put money first. Show the right attitude at all time. To all my people in Europe, I love you all.
