Tchidi Chikere Marriage Controversy update: Novia Supports Tchidi Chikere

href=”https://fujiipop.wordpress.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/tchidi1.jpg”>tchidi1
For some days now, the Nigeria movie industry has been agog over the marital breakup between script writer and movie director, Tchidi Chikere and his estranged wife, Sophia.
The current controversy has been fuelled by Chikere’s bold step in walking down the aisle with another woman. While his ex-wife has been calling him names, Chikere has also warned that he will open more can-of-worms on Sophia’s unpalatable lifestyle and escapades.
Meanwhile, another movie director and producer, Charles Novia, has intervened on the boiling issue in a piece. Read it below:
Sophia-Tchidi-Chikere4

Tchidi Chikere is one of the best brains we have in Nollywood. Tchidi Chikere is a celebrated scriptwriter and movie director. With an impressive body of work in the past decade and a capacity to discover new stars or to enhance sagging careers of others, Tchidi is not a personality one can ignore in Nollywood.
I have known him in a professional capacity for close to fourteen years and I relate well with him in the few instances we have met and had discussions.
Tchidi has a burning desire to make a change in Nollywood, to shoot movies which somehow should re-calibrate society’s moral journey. I particularly love some of his movies for the uncanny way he brings out everyday characters in simple lifestyles and turn them to complex evolutionary beings in complex situations. As a movie director and a scriptwriter, Tchidi is gifted. Very gifted. Take it from me.
In my usual no-holds-barred critique of his acting, I would be less charitable in my accolades. But I am not writing this to detract from his credentials as a celebrated auteur. I am writing this out of concern, perhaps more professional but with a huge personal slant to it as well.
It is a well-known fact by now that Tchidi got married to an actress, Nuella, a few days ago. First of all, Tchidi, I must congratulate you on that. Whatever the opinions people have, we must all respect the wishes of consenting adults when it comes to tying the knot. He made a choice and we should respect that, no matter how much the slanderous anonymous commentators on social media think they know.
That Tchidi got separated from his former wife, Sophia who bore him three children is perhaps unfortunate but like I said, consenting adults take decisions which they believe is best for them at certain stages in life. Such decisions might come much anger and recriminations and would always leave scars in the hearts of both parties. Divorce or separations are never pleasant.
My concern in this case has to do with the open fights between Tchidi and Sophia on social media after Tchidi’s new marriage. On face value, it would seem to have started with Tchidi’s rant on twitter a couple of days back against his ex-wife.
The tweets were quite shocking and less than charitable, to say the least. Though from the tweets, one could psycho-analyse that Tchidi was really angry, hurt and perhaps deliberately hitting below the belt at his former wife. My first reaction when I read those tweets on a blog was one of shock. Those tweets were totally uncalled for. Totally. Granted, they might have been written in a miasma of negative volcanic emotions but total restraint is required from a man in those kinds of circumstances. And such restraint is justified when the mother of your blood children is involved!
Sophia had a riposte which I read as well and she had a moral right to respond too. But something tells me that Tchidi would wish to fire another salvo at that response and thus start social media bric-a-brac which would inflict more wounds on all parties. That is why I had to write this open opinion.
In Nollywood, and perhaps to a small extent the entertainment industry in general, most of the creatives tend to look away when acrimonious matters befall one of their own. First reactions would be one of aloofness, followed by private gossip in meeting places. Sometimes, colleagues and friends of such personalities would whisper malicious things about the subject in private while pretending to be all coy and concerned when they meet the suffering subjects in public. Oh Yes! My sector have some sycophants and pretenders as with politics but isn’t that how life goes?
Perhaps Tchidi and Sophia are being wrongly advised by masquerading friends? Or maybe they are not even being advised at all by anyone but are just ventilating on social media, giving bloggers more hits and the country one more piece of idle gossip?
Whatever the case, I will openly advise Tchidi to stop further tweets or replies on this matter. For the record, I don’t know Sophia or Nuella and haven’t met with any ever and don’t wish to. My concern, as a father, is for the kids from Tchidi’s first marriage and perhaps future kids from this new marriage. Do not celebrate your misgivings on social media. Sheath the swords. Think of the children. The children. The children.
Those poor kids are going through indescribable torture and pain already. You don’t need to add fuel to their discomfort. Angry words once written and published are hard to take back, even with the passing of time.
Celebrities are human too. That you see us on the screens or read about us does not make us less human than the other fellow. Fame and fortune only hide our foibles and finnicks. But we are human. However, whilst we are human, there are expectations of decorum we all must adhere to. And if it is just for the kids, Tchidi and Sophia (and perhaps Nuella) must adhere to the dictates of decorum.
I am not writing this to take sides or blame any of the parties involved. I am writing this openly because whatever linens being displayed by all parties in the open should be brought down immediately.
May God help all parties pass through this period and bless them all as they move on to the next phase of their lives.

K1, Percy split ? By @tj_shetade

k 1 and percy

Latest news spreading about Fuji Lord, Alhaji Wasiu K1 Anifowoshe Marshal has it that the brand and media manager, Percy Ademokun has resigned working with him.
Yes, the lion was divinely crowned but give it to Percy Ibikunle Ademokun, the band manager and foreman of King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, he has been with King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal from Barrister to Marshal, from KWAM1 to K1! He is seemingly the architect of the well oiled and media friendly team of K1. Percy loves K1s organisation like a mother hen, his loyalty then was as constant as a northern star. But then, the adage holds sway, that 7 Kings and 7 seasons, Percy definitely cannot be with K1 forever, even K1s daughters got married and left him, kanbosibosi Percy, the media entrepreneur.

Percy dropped his resignation letter on Sunday, March 9 just after the wedding of K1’s daughter. Well, it wasn’t that easy as you may think.

Then, whenever you hear Sir Shina Peters, K1s name is next! K1 and Sir Shina Peters are known as Siamese twins in the corporate world! Suddenly, the twin cord was broken by the corporate organisations due to K1s preference and toga as an APC musician. KI was not particularly pleased about that. The corporate world now emphatically prefers Sir Shina Peters and the junior Fuji musicians to his band. KI complained to Percy, Percy knew you cannot eat your cake and have it!

KIs wholesale adoption of political patronage damaged the bands corporate appeal. Until last year when Percy pulled a masterstroke with KIs invitation to the Masters nite show and Headies, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal was almost nil in the corporate world unlike before. Remember the Benson and Hedges shows.

Percy was not particularly pleased with K1s wanton toga of an APC musician. Though the money and political patronage was good, Percy as a professional knew the dangers inherent in riding a tiger and the apparent flaws in political jingoism.

Known to many, Percys family are domiciled abroad, and there comes a time in a mans life when the chicken must come home to roost. Percy must move on at a point.

In addition, Percy made it real good from the band. He is unarguably a multi millionaire with one or two properties in Lagos and firm investments. He is a shrewd entrepreneur. He cannot therefore be a foreman forever.

Percy Ademokun is the beacon behind KI. KI is the capstone. Percys absence is already causing jitters in the media. Unlike before, we now read negative reports on and about King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall. This was not possible during the kingly reign of his royal highness, Percy Ademokun Esq.

Nevertheless, we learnt there is no absolute employment contract. K1 holds the Fuji scene like a colossus but Percys absence would be felt in the media.

oba mushin
Oba Mushin, His Royal Majesty, Fatai Ajileru boys have vandalised cars on Oluwole, Ofada, Ladipo, Oliyide Streets at Mushin.
Residents in the area revealed that on Monday March 24th 2014, Oba of Mushin opened his newly built Palace at Oluwole Street, Mushin. The event started at around 12pm. Lots of celebrities graced the occasion.
At 6pm, area boys alongside body guides of the King assembled at the Palace waiting for largesse from Oba Fatai. Undisclosed huge amount of money was given to each leader that controls each area in Mushin.
To everybody’s surprise, the allocated money didn’t get to some minor group of the touts. They therefore vowed to hijack the event negatively as soon as possible.
At 7:00 pm, some gangs in mask stormed the King’s Palace demanding for their own share of the said money. They were armed also with dangerous weapons. No one could near them either.
The gangs stormed the streets. They started vandalising cars parked on the road. The gang broke windscreen, side mirrors and other valuable items on Ofada, Oliyide, Oluwole, Streets.
Some innocents walking on the streets were attacked by these hoodlums. In fact, they machete one barber on Ofada Street who didn’t know that hoodlums had entered the street. He was full of blood after the gang had performed their evils on the street.
One of the victims, a journalist, alleged the King Fatai that he is responsible for the action carried out by his boys. The man who works with a celebrity journal in Lagos , has 323 Mazda Blue Sports Car. And the car’s windscreen was vandalised beyond recognition. The journalist resides at Ofada Street.
It was gathered that all the vehicles that were vandalised were 30 in numbers. Residents have protested that Oba Fatai Ajileru will pay for damages.
All efforts to reach the King have proved abortive. It was learnt that press visited the king twice to conduct interview on the incident, his aide said he was indisposed to attend to press men at the time of filling this report.
